Bully individuals are very damaging for organization according to today’s market psychology. These individuals constrain individuals and making people feel counterproductive and frustrating from new inventions. A bully boss is a challenge for anyone therefore when handling a bully boss you should be very careful. There are several ways to handle a bully boss like you can build teams of associates and encounter the issues with individuals high up in the organization and can put a stop to bullying for bright future of company. Your boss can be a micromanager, narrow-minded, sexiest, a bully or plays favorite or worse all above. You can try following ideas to treat with bully or difficult boss.

Take Analysis of Your Actions

Make honest analysis of your job performance and work either your job performance diminish when the “distressing” boss came into your mind or picture? Have you been neglecting or featherbed in trying to refocusing of assignments in hand after seeing many changes in boss behavior?

Pen down Boss’s Bad Behavior

You should make a list of all bad behaviors of boss that in your opinion are unethical, abusive or unprofessional. You can jot down all these facts excluding your reactions about those events.

Find a Coach

If you have true affection with your company but can’t deal with your bad boss then you should develop another solution like you can develop a mentoring relationship with another supervisor of another department of your company.

Document the Bullying

You should avoid “word vs. word” detailed documentation about any happening. You can put voicemails, emails and other concrete evidences in the file because these concrete documentary evidences force the organization to investigate what’s going on instead of dismissing the issue.

Report to Human Resource

You can report all bad actions of boss to human resource as a last resort. You can get either negative or positive reactions in response. Human resource authorities must do something about situation or in awful-case scenario you can be stigmatize as a complainer and the tension between you and your boss can increase.

Don’t Accept Everything

If your boss has a difficult or awkward management style then it doesn’t mean that you have to adopt it, but instead of it you can respond professionally. If your boss insults you or try to put you down then you should respond peacefully and try to realize the boss that insulting you or putting you down cannot resolve the problem. There are many other better ways to deal with situation. If you boss has a micromanaging style that breathes down your neck then you should arrange a meeting with boss and try to explain him that you are uncomfortable with him. Sometimes this action can solve your problems and many times the boss will step back.

Discuss When it is Too Much

If your boss’s behavior is very bad then this exploitation becomes more then a serious problem. In such cases scheduling a meeting with boss can be very effective and during meeting you can discuss all issues with boss and try to find a middle ground. If your bullying boss has a protracted effect on your health, personal life and all your vacations are used up in working then it is the time to get out.

Avoid from Sacrificing Your Health

The worst thing that you will do is sacrificing your health. Don’t try to resolve any problem on your account because no job, boss or company is worth losing your self-esteem or health. If you are failed to resolve issues or cannot find ant way and your boss will never change his/ her behavior then you should start looking for a new job by using your networks. Try to line up something before quitting if possible.

By following these tips you can easily handle bully bosses. Keep your ground strong and don’t let any bully to damage your personality.
