Retirement is a point where a person ceases his/her employment completely or decided to leave the job if forced by employer. If person reduces his work hours instead of stopping work completely then it is partial retirement. Many people stop their employment and prefer to take retirement due to private and public pensions and benefits. The concepts of benefits after retirement vary from country to country. Think About Your Past Dreams
Take a cup of tea or coffee at morning and put your concentration on your dreams to find out what you ever wanted to do in your life.

- Do you want to go out abroad for some further education or for job or just for enjoyment?
Just take a paper and pen to take some notes of all these things when you think that you really have time to do it. Sometime after retirement some of you really strapped from cash so you can choose luxury options after observation of your certificates, degrees, licenses and skills. Some people among you face layoff or forced retirements from job should follow these step. There will be some delighted jobs waiting for you.
Learn New Skills
If you want to change your career field then goes through college catalogues that are available from any local library. You will search for short term programs which can be completed within one year like some certificate programs. You can get the license of practical nurse from any community college which has duration of less than one year. You can get lectureship or short tuitions in many colleges.
Volunteering
Some people have dream to work in non-profit organization of their choice through volunteering. It might be a good idea for you that you can offer your services as volunteer to any non-profitable organization. You can join any children welfare society for best consumption of your time.
Start Your Own Business
You can also start your own business if you have sufficient funds. If you have some favorite hobby like gardening then you can open a nursery or if you love children you can open a school and if you have experience and ideas in sewing then you can use your skills as a tailor. You will start a business for card designing as many jobs and businesses from baby sitting to tutors use brochures, fliers and cards for their advertisement. You can also use your house as office and start cooking classes, stitching classes or any other coaching classes of the field of your choice at your house.

- Use social network and build your resources through public libraries, colleagues, college community and keep yourself updated about new opportunities.
- If you opt for education then don’t discourage yourself by thinking yourself oldest in class. You can be a trend setter if more and more old people join studies by looking at you.
