Team BuildingFor smooth operations of team the team members must know how to work in teams with one another. Team building activities help persons to learn how to work together to find their strengths and weaknesses. These activities can improve the learning attitudes of adults and tell them that how to utilize their strengths and remove weaknesses in team. When you are dealing with your adult or experienced employees always remember that a change about any perspective cannot come easily. After every activity or exercise take few minutes and discuss with them that what they learn from this exercise and how they can utilize all this at work situation.

Helium Stick

For this exercise you will need a long but light weight stick. You will select a group of 8-12 members but make it sure to choose as smaller group as possible because this activity will works better with marginally smaller or larger group of people. Arrange the team in two lines facing each other and have them to hold out their hands in a way like index fingers pointing out and lay the stick on their fingers. The stick should lie on the top of their fingers and it cannot be crushed or grapple in any way and the fingers of everyone should be touching the stick. The main objective of this game is lower the stick to the ground.

Basically the trick is that because of upward pressure on the stick from fingers it has tendency to rise into the air. Lowering of stick require team work and patience. After completion of this activity choose some topics for conversation and ask about the expressions of people that how people group together and worked as team. Share their creative ideas and suggestions it can help you to understanding real situation of work place and to achieve your goals.

Capping Team Member

Provide each member a pen or pencil. Provide them instructions that they make a list of their all best traits. You can advise them that they should draw a picture of any team member who has all these traits and give it a title. Provide 5-10 minutes to groups to complete their ultimate team member and then have group share their creation. After this activity conduct a discussion session and discuss with members how they can do their best in achieving new tasks.

Egg Drop

Egg DropThe purpose of this activity is to help your group to learn that how to create new things as a team. This is a practically messy activity so you should do it outside or prepare a cover area with a painter’s trap for it. You will divide all team members into small groups having about 4-5 people in each group. Provide them building material like straw, tape and newspaper. Instruct them that they have to use all these materials and make an egg carrier that can safely carry a raw egg for 10 minutes or maximum feet. This activity has some features of team work. You should discuss with members that how they work in groups in making egg carrier. You can discuss with members about their ideas and suggestions about each activity especially egg carrier activity.

Discuss with them that how successful teams work together to accomplish all goals and objectives. Unsuccessful team breaks the egg and the team who can carry egg for maximum time is the winner and strongest team.
